WOMEN'S TENNIS MAKES IT LUCKY 13 WITH 9-0 VICTORY OVER KING

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The historic 2013 women's tennis season continued with another victory on Monday afternoon as Pfeiffer University blanked visiting King 9-0 in Conference Carolinas action at the Knapp Tennis Center. The Lady Falcons improve to 13-3 overall winning their 13th-straight while improving to a perfect 9-0 in league play. The Tornado fall to 0-15, 0-9 with the loss.

Three of Pfeiffer's nine points came via forfeit as King only had four available players. Taylor Lindsay/Valeria Mendoza picked up an 8-3 win at #1 doubles while Briana Oliver/Hannah Watson went 8-1 at #2.

In singles, Lindsay rolled in straight-sets two and three while Mendoza won 6-0, 6-1. Watson was victorious three and three at the #3 position while Melinda Athay scored a 6-3, 6-2 win to wrap up singles play.

The Lady Falcons will now move into a Conference Carolinas showdown at Erskine on Wednesday afternoon. The winner will likely become the top seed in next weekend's league tournament as regular season champs.
