INDIANAPOLIS, I.N. - The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse season officially came to an end on Sunday night as the Lake Erie Storm took the fourth and final spot in the south region to qualify for the NCAA national tournament. The Falcons held the #4 seed for several weeks until the Storm defeated Seton Hill (#3 seed) on Friday 12-10 in the ECAC tournament semifinals.
Pfeiffer ends 2013 with an overall record of 13-4, 5-1 in conference play, as the 13 wins sets a new school record breaking the mark of 12 set last season. The only four losses for the Falcons this season would come against Mercyhurst, Seton Hill and Limestone (twice) who were all nationally-ranked this season and qualified for the national tournament. Pfeiffer finishes the year ranked #11.
Mike Triolo would set a new school record for groundballs with 105 in his career. Triolo, along with Kory Lutes, Rory Vannais, Blake Studstill and Jeff Konko all see their collegiate careers come to a close with the NCAA's announcement on Sunday night.
