ZALACCA JOINS PFEIFFER AS SPORTS INFORMATION DIRECTOR

Misenheimer, NC- Pfeiffer University is pleased to welcome Jeremy Zalacca to the athletic staff as the Sports Information Director. Zalacca comes to Pfeiffer from Rochester Institute of Technology, where he served as the Assistant Sports Information Director since 2012. Prior to working at RIT, Zalacca worked as a stats reporter for Stats LLC and the Assistant Sports Information Director at SUNY Potsdam.

Before becoming an assistant sports information director, Zalacca worked at Hilbert College as an assistant basketball coach during the 2009-10 season. While there, he was primarily responsible for recruiting and scouting. One of the recruits that he brought in went on to be named Newcomer of the Year. Zalacca also helped with public relations, publishing the teamís media guide. He also worked in the Statistics and Analysis Department at ESPN.

Zalacca earned his Bachelorís degree in Sports Management from St. John Fisher College, where he also played on the menís basketball team. As an athlete, he made three consecutive NCAA Division III tournament appearances with the Cardinals.

He is eager about beginning his career at Pfeiffer, saying, "I am very excited and honored to join the Pfeiffer University Athletic Department and look forward to working with the student athletes and administrators here. I am grateful for the opportunity and ready to fulfill the role of Sports Information Director to the best of my abilities."

When asked about Zalacca, Vice President for Athletics/Athletic Director Bob Reasso stated, ďWe are absolutely delighted we were able to get Jeremy Zalacca to come and be our Sports Information Director.† He has a wealth of experience as a college basketball player, Sports Information Director, administrator as well as experience at ESPN.† Jeremy has a wonderful skill set to bring to the position.† He comes from an athletic family; his dad Jim was a great college basketball coach and is presently the AD at SUNY Potsdam.
