PFEIFFER INKS ENDORSEMENT DEAL WITH AMERICAN COMPANY NEW BALANCE

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Pfeiffer University Athletic Department is proud to announce a three-year sponsorship deal with New Balance as its official apparel provider. New Balance is the only athletic apparel company that manufactures its shoes and apparel in the United States.

Athletic Director/VP for Athletics Bob Reasso ‘73 worked with the Boston-based company at Husson University in Bangor, Me., where he served as athletic director from 2010-2013.

“We are proud to partner with a great organization such as New Balance,” said Reasso. “I love working with them because they deliver high-quality products and their excellent representative, Lamont Morgan, provides top-notch customer service. It means a great deal to the entire University to align ourselves with an American, family-owned corporation that still manufactures sneakers in the United States. It’s hard to find a better company to partner with.”

New Balance’s Lamont Morgan, a former Georgetown basketball standout, is equally enthusiastic about New Balance’s relationship with Pfeiffer.

“I am thankful for the opportunity to partner with a university that has a rich history of academic and athletic excellence,” Morgan said. “These two parties are committed to fostering an environment in which student-athletes can thrive and focus on excellence on the field or court. New Balance’s first-class service and quality products will certainly support Pfeiffer’s pursuit and achievement of athletic success.”

“As an institution, Pfeiffer is proud to work with vendors that bring outstanding value to the day-to-day experience of our students and staff,” said Michael C. Miller, Pfeiffer University’s president. “New Balance’s presence, quality and commitment to U.S.-based manufacturing are sure to resonate with the entire Pfeiffer community.”

New Balance, founded in 1906 by William J. Riley, has offered excellent footwear for more than 100 years and quality team sports products and service for over a decade. The corporation, which manufactures seven million pairs of shoes every year, owns five factories in the U.S., two in Boston and three in Maine, employing 1,300 skilled American workers. New Balance purchases materials from a number of domestic suppliers, which employ more than 7,000 workers. New Balance also owns sportswear manufacturer Warrior Sports and athletic equipment manufacturer Brine Corp., which also will outfit the Falcons. The company has recently begun endorsing Major League Baseball players and has signed Yadier Molina of the Cardinals, Josh Beckett of the Dodgers and Curtis Granderson of the Yankees to endorsement deals.
