1981 PFEIFFER FIELD HOCKEY NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM

The 1981 Pfeiffer University Field Hockey team is enshrined in the NCAA History books. This championship was won on the first day that the NCAA crowned women's National Champions.

On November 21, 1981, Pfeiffer hosted the National Championship game and defeated Bentley College by a final score of 5-3. Carol Whitehouse, who had seven goals on the year, scored Pfeiffer's first four goals, including three in a six-minute span. Carlo Durkin added a goal and two assists for the Lady Falcons who finished the season 9-3-1.

Pfeiffer reached the National Championship game by deafeating Chico St. University 1-0 in overtime on November 14.
