MEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS GREENSBORO, 1-0

GREENSBORO, NC- The Pfeiffer University men’s soccer game defeated Greensboro College 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. Aldo Ramirez scored the game’s lone goal as Pfeiffer improved to 1-0-1 in preseason play.

Seth Dey had a long throw that was deflected to Ramirez who beat the Pride goalkeeper giving the Falcons the lead for good.

The Falcons came out in the second half and pressed up on Greensboro. Pfeiffer forced the keeper to make a lot of stops in the second half and had a chance to push the lead to 2-0 but hit the crossbar.

“We got better as the game went on,” said first-year head coach Bob Reasso. “Our second half was better than our first. We tried some different things and were able to get the majority of the chances.”

The Falcons final pre-season tune up comes on Aug. 28 as they travel to Lander for a 4 p.m. exhibition match.
