BRISTOL, TN – The Pfeiffer University women’s golf team finished in fifth place at the King University Invitational played at the Bristol Country Club on Monday and Tuesday. The Lady Falcons placed two golfers in the top five overall, including Danielle Hazlip who finished fourth. It was the sophomore’s second top-10 finish of the year as she took home sixth in Pfeiffer’s opening tournament, the Anderson Invitational.
Hazlip shot identical rounds of 77 to finish with a final score of 154. Teammate Lauren Lyle finished one shot behind Hazlip, with scores of 77 and 78 to place fifth in the field of 42 golfers.
Stefania Valgeirsdottir, Sarah Baldwin and Allyson Heinz rounded out the top five for Pfeiffer. The Lady Falcons finished with a team score of 667. Limestone won the event with a final score of 628, 14 shots better than second-place Mount Olive.
The Falcons return to action on Oct. 7 and 8 when they travel to Myrtle Beach to compete in the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate Invitational.
