RESULTS VS. ST ANDREWS (2009-03-21 00:00:00)

Spring Lake, NC -- All five Pfeiffer University golfers finished in the top nine this weekend as the Falcons claimed the team title in the first Anderson Creek Collegiate Invitational.
Leading the way for the Falcons was medalist Lawrence Noott (Belbroughton, England), who carded a 71-76-147 in the two-day, 36-hole event to win by one shot over Barton’s Daniel Castleberry (71-77-148). That duo had the only scores under par in the event on the challenging, 7,060-yard Davis Love layout. Two players, Barton’s Taylor Hernandez and University of Massachusetts-Lowell’s Tom Ayala, posted 74 (2-over par) on Sunday, which tied for low round of the day.
Pfeiffer wound up shooting 300-304-604 (+28) to beat runner-up Barton (305-308-613) by nine shots. UMASS-Lowell captured third place at 316-309-625. St. Andrews Presbyterian College (313-318-631) and Barton College B (320-315-635) rounded out the top five. The Queens University B team (309-335-644), UMASS Lowell B (339-335-674) and St. Andrews B (398-393-791) completed the field.
Noott got a lot of help from his teammates in securing the top team prize. Louis Pitre (Quebec City, Canada) (75-76-151) finished tied for fourth, Cameron Fields (Bowling Green, KY) (78-75-153) was seventh, Andrew Shiflet (Asheboro, NC) (76-78-154) took eighth and Parker Robertson (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) (78-77-155) tied for ninth.
Pfeiffer led the field in par 4 scoring (+23 for two days), par 5 scoring (+3), total pars (105) and birdies (24).
Castleberry led all players with eight birdies and played the par 4s at -1. Shiflet and Noott were the par leaders with 24 apiece in 36 holes. Robertson was -2 on the par 5s to set the pace.
The course played to an average of 82.43 on the first day and 82.76 in the second round.Anderson Creek Collegiate Dates: 03/20-03/22, 2009 Round: 1 Par-Yardage: 72-7060 Fin.
