PFEIFFER HAS NO PROBLEM WITH WARREN WILSON AS SWIMMING HONORS FIVE ON SENIOR DAY

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Pfeiffer University men's and women's swimming teams sent their seniors off with a memorable farewell, making quick work of visiting Warren Wilson inside Merner Pool.  It was only the second time this season that Pfeiffer's men's and women's squads both finished in first place, and the second meet in a row where each took the top spot.

Out of 28 total events held during the course of the afternoon, the men's and women's swimming teams combined to finish first in all but one of the events, and took the top two spots in all but five of those events.  As a team, Pfeiffer combined for 400 total points against Warren Wilson's 105.  The men's team defeated Warren Wilson with an overall score of 210-43 and the women's team defeated the visitors by a score of 190-62.

Honored on Saturday for their contributions to the Pfeiffer University Swimming Program were seniors, Dustin Brannam, Vera Defusco, Morgan Dionne, Jillian Kniffen, and Brittney Quaranto.  Kniffen swam the second leg of the first place 200 yard medley relay team, was first place in the 100 yard breaststroke, finished first place in the 200 yard IM, and swam the final leg of the first place 200 yard freestyle relay team.

Brannam swam the last leg of the first place 200 yard medley relay team, placed first in the 50 yard freestyle, and was first place in the 100 yard butterfly.  Dionne swam the first leg of the first place 200 yard medley relay team, finished first in the 200 yard freestyle, took first place in the 500 yard freestyle, and swam the third leg on the first place 200 yard freestyle relay team.

Defusco swam the first leg of the first place 200 yard freestyle relay team, and swam the final leg on the 200 yard medley relay team.  Quaranto rounded out the senior class by swimming the third leg on the 200 yard medley relay team, placing first in the 200 yard butterfly, and swimming the second leg of the 200 yard freestyle relay team.

Pfeiffer returns to action on February 12th when they travel to Charlotte to compete in the Conference Carolinas Championships.
