MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Pfeiffer women's tennis team defended their home court in near-perfect fashion on Thursday afternoon, defeating Brevard 7-2 and maintaining their untarnished record. The win improves the Falcons to 6-0 on the season and with the loss Brevard drops to 0-4 overall. Pfeiffer won five out of six of their singles matchups and two out of three of their doubles contests to finish off the visiting team.
In singles competition the Falcons boasted winning performances from freshmen Olivia Nelms, Mylene Petitpas, and Amanda Long. Not to be outdone by their teammates, Pfeiffer sophomores Valeria Mendoza and Hannah Watson also picked up singles wins on the afternoon. Nelms and Watson improve to 5-0 on the season with their singles wins, Mendoza improves to 4-0, and Petitpas improves to 4-1.
Doubles competition was much of the same for the home team. The duo of Nelms and Watson made quick work of their opponents, downing their competition 8-1. Petitpas and Long picked up the other doubles win for the Falcons, defeating their opponents 8-1 as well.
Pfeiffer returns to action on March 1st when they travel to South Carolina to take on USC-Aiken. Match time is set for 2:00 p.m.
