PINEHURST, N.C. – After the conclusion at the first round of the 2014 Hargett Pinehurst Challenge on Monday, Pfeiffer finds itself sitting in third place with a score of 17-over par 305.
Pfeiffer is only five strokes back of first place Queens who posted a 12-over par 300. With a strong round tomorrow, the Falcons could find themselves sneaking into a first place finish.
The only other team ahead of Pfeiffer is Wingate who shot a 15-over par 303.
Wingate’s Benedict Gebhardt sits atop the individual leaderboard as he posted the only score under par for the round with a one under par 71.
Freshman Nathan Bull shot a team best three over par 75. Currently, Bull is tied for seventh place on the leaderboard, one position ahead of his best career finish of eighth. Bull is only four shots behind the leader, which can be made up in tomorrow’s round.
Freshman C.J. Dreyfuss shot his second best round of his college career as he posted a four over par 76, which was good enough to put him into a tie for 14th.
Two Falcons are tied for 20th as A.T. Cashwell and Zach Weaver both shot a five over par 77.
To round off the Falcons, David Weinberger shot a six over par 78 as he is tied for 27th on the individual leaderboard.
The Falcons posted all five players in the top 27 of the individual leaderboard for the first time this year.
The 12-team field will return to Pinehurst National tomorrow for the final round of action at the 2014 Hargett Pinehurst Challenge.
