| Baseball Loses 10-6 |

| SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba rallied from a six-run deficit to defeat visiting 10-6 Pfeiffer in baseball action on Tuesday night. Pfeiffer stands at 18-18 on the season while Catawba improves to 24-12. Bryan Braxton put Pfeiffer on the board with a solo homer in the first then the Falcons scored five times in the third. Ryan Brown had a RBI double and Kyle Pugh a RBI single before Zack Pou hit a three-run homer for the early 6-0 edge. Zach Strickland held Catawba to just two hits over the first five innings, but the Indians began their rally in the sixth. Jerry Sands cut the lead in half with a three-run homer to chase Strickland then Craig Lyerly had a RBI single and Chad Baker a bases-loaded walk off reliever Tim Peele to pull within 6-5. The Indians took the lead with another five-run frame in the seventh. David Thomas doubled with one out and Zach Evans followed with a home run for a 7-6 lead. Lee Page added some insurance with a three-run homer. Fairweather improved to 5-2, while Peele (1-2) took the loss. Pfeiffer travels to Tusculum Wednesday for a 3:30 pm game. |
