MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Pfeiffer women's tennis team has yet to meet their match this season, handily defeating conference foe Limestone this afternoon and extending their win streak to 13 matches. Today's win improves the Falcons' overall record to 13-0 and 5-0 in Conference Carolinas action, putting them dead even with Erskine at the top of the conference standings. Limestone falls to 5-5 this season and 3-1 in conference play. Pfeiffer is currently ranked tenth in the Southeast Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Singles play was all Pfeiffer, with the home team winning four out of six matches. Falcon victories were secured by freshman Olivia Nelms, junior Taylor Lindsay, sophomore Valeria Mendoza, and sophomore Hannah Watson. Nelms improves her season singles record to 10-1, Lindsay improves to 10-2, Watson improves to 9-2, and Mendoza extends her unbeaten streak to 11 matches.
The Falcons dominated the visitors in doubles competition, winning all three matches by substantial margins. Picking up doubles wins for Pfeiffer were the duos of Lindsay and Mendoza, Nelms and Watson, and the freshman pairing of Mylene Petitpas and Amanda Long. Both pairings of Lindsay and Mendoza as well as Nelms and Watson improve to 12-1 in doubles matches on the season, and Petitpas and Log remain undefeated at 8-0.
Pfeiffer looks to continue their winning ways when they welcome Belmont Abbey to Misenheimer on March 27th. Match time is set for 2:30 p.m.
