The Pfeiffer men’s and women’s golf team has added five new signees for the 2014-15 season. Both programs are looking for continued development as they strive to be in a position to compete for the Conference Carolinas Championship under second-year Head Coach Elliot Gealy.
Luke Allen (Birmingham UK): Luke attended Lode Heath School in Birmingham UK. He is a member of the Werwickshire Golf Club where he is the Club Champion. He also won the 2013 County League Title in the Midlands. Luke is an excellent student with a 3.7 GPA.
Coach Gealy on Allen: “Luke is a solid player with a great skill of scoring the golf ball. He will be a great addition to the program and will add depth to our roster.”
Christopher Stens (Myrtle Beach, SC): Chris attended Carolina Forest High School where he was the #1 player on the golf team. He had a great senior year with two Individual wins at Grand Dunes in Myrtle Beach and at The Panther Invitational at Coastal Carolina.
Coach Gealy on Stens: “Chris is a late bloomer in the game. He moved with his family to Myrtle Beach to get exposure and it really has turned out well. I am excited to see him develop and be a consistent contributor to the team.”
Nicolas Doblin (Trappes, France): Nicolas attended UFA Notre Dame School in France for two years. He has been competing on the French Amateur Tour over the past couple of years while strengthening his game at the ISP Academy.
Coach Gealy on Doblin: “Nicolas brings maturity and experience to our young team. He has been exposed to a very competitive Amateur Class in France. He has a great short game and solid golf swing that will produce consistent scores in the fall.”
Meghan Holbrooks (Winston Salem, NC): Meghan graduated from Ledford H.S. in June. She was a member of two State Championship Teams at Ledford and also finished 5th individually in the 2013 State Championships. She is a well-rounded student with a hard working mentality for improving on and off the golf course.
Coach Gealy on Holbrooks: “Meghan is a raw talent and will improve drastically when she gets to school. She will add depth to our roster and will be an integral part to our success in the fall.”
Amanda Floberg (Stockholm, Sweden): Amanda attended the Blackebergs School during her academic career. She was a very good student with a 3.5 GPA. During her summers she competed in Club Tournaments at home and had 13 top 10’s in Competitive Tournaments.
Coach Gealy on Floberg: “I am really excited about adding Amanda to our roster. She is my first International Women’s signee and I believe she will be a great addition to our program. She has improved greatly over the past year and will continue to do so when she arrives on campus.”
