|Falcons Defeat Coker 88-86|

Hartsville, SC---Pfeiffer (6-0,3-0) hung on to defeat Coker (1-5, 0-2) 88-86 in CVAC men's basketball action Sunday afternoon. DeMario Grier scored 31 points to lead the Falcons.
DeMario Grier scored the first five points of the game as Pfeiffer went out to a 7-0 lead in the first three minutes.
Two straight Coker three-pointers cut the Pfeiffer lead to 17-16 with 8:14 to go in the half. The Falcons came right back with an 8-2 run to build the lead to seven. However, Coker responded with a 7-0 run to tie the game.
The two teams battled back and forth through the rest of the half but the Falcons went into the break holding a 43-40 lead.
Coker scored the first eight points of the second half to take a five point lead. Over the next thirteen minutes there were five ties and five lead changes as the two teams played a close exciting game.
Down 74-72 at the 5:19 mark, the Falcons went on an 8-0 run to take the lead.
Coker kept fighting but the Falcons hit enough free throws down the stretch to win 88-86.
Grier led Pfeiffer with 31 points. Robert McGriff added 14 points and 7 rebounds. Logan Call contributed 13 points and 8 rebounds.
Pfeiffer will next play on Friday, December 15th. They will travel to Davis and Elkins for a 7:00 pm tip-off.
