| Misenheimer, NC---Will Davis drove in five to lead Pfeiffer to a 9-4 win over UNC-Pembroke Tuesday afternoon in non-conference baseball action. Falcon starter Zack Strickland picked up his second win with seven strong innings on the mound. Pfeiffer is now 9-4 on the season. Pembroke picked up an unearned run in the first to take a quick lead. The Falcons came back in the third to tie the game on a Bryan Braxton RBI. Coker hit a two-run home run for Pembroke in the fourth as the Braves took a 3-1 lead. The Falcon bats exploded in the bottom of the fifth. A walk, single, walk, single, double and single led to four Falcon runs with Davis' two-run double the highlight. Pembroke scored once in the sixth but Pfeiffer came back with four more in their half of the sixth. Davis again was the catalyst with a three-run home run. Zack Strickland improved to 2-0 with seven strong innings on the mound. He gave up only three earned runs while striking out four. Brett Richardson pitched two scoreless innings in relief. Pfeiffer will host Carson-Newman on Wednesday in a double-header starting at 1:00 pm. |
