| Misenheimer, NC---Logan Call had 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead Pfeiffer (5-3) to a 83-71 victory over Davis and Elkins(4-3) Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's basketball action. The Falcons have now won five straight games. Pfeiffer scored the first five points of the game. The Senators responded with an 11-0 run but the Falcons came right back with a 7-0 run to take a 12-11 lead after eight minutes of play. Thoms Carr hit a three-pointer with nine minutes left to give Pfeiffer a 20-17 lead. Danny Manuel hit two straight three-pointers for the Senators to tie the game at 25. With 1:56 to go Daniel Bell hit a "3" to give the Falcons a 33-30 advantage. At halftime the Falcons had a 36-34 lead. Pfeiffer held the Senators scoreless for the first three and a half minutes of the second half as they increased their lead to 43-34. Five straight points by Trumaine Johnson increasd the lead for Pfeiffer to 51-39 with 15 minutes to go. A Thomas Carr steal and long three-pointer gave the Falcons a 20 point lead at 69-49 with 9:15 left. Davis and Elkins fought back but Logan Call made a 10 foot jumper with 3:25 to go to give the Falcons a 73-64 advantage. Alvin Slaton effectively nded the game when he hit a three-pointer with 1:06 to go to give Pfeiffer a 79-68 lead. Pfeiffer held on to win 83-71. Pfeiffer returns to action Tuesday when they travel to Columbia Union. Start time is 7:00 pm. |
