| Men's Lacrosse Loses 9-7 |

| Clinton, SC---A second half rally fell just short as the Pfeiffer men's lacrosse team lost to Presbyterian College 9-7 on Friday afternoon. The Falcobns fell behind 4-0 at halftime but fought back in the second half but couldn't pull it out in this non-conference match-up. Presbyterian is now1-4 on the 2007 campaign, while Pfeiffer falls to 1-5 on the season. Presbyterian led the contest from beginning to end. The Blue Hose shutout the Falcons in the first half with two goals each of the first two quarters to take a 4-0 lead into halftime. The Falcons actually outscored PC 7-5 in the second half, but Presbyterian’s strong start helped the Blue Hose maintain the victory. Eddie Gourley led the Falcons in the loss, scoring three goals for Pfeiffer to end the game as one of two Pfeiffer players with two or more goals. Shawn Cross also ended his day with two goals. Presbyterian had 36 shots in the victory compared to Pfeiffer’s 31. Both teams scooped up 37 ground balls. PC had a strong advantage in face-offs, acquiring 12 of the 19 in the game. Pat Martin was the losing goalkeeper, allowing all nine PC goals while recording 9 saves. Pfeiffer will play again March 15th at NYIT at 3:30 pm. |
