|Men's Tennis Splits in Georgia|

Dahlonega, GA---The Pfeiffer men's tennis team split their matches in Georgia this weekend. On Friday Pfeiffer defeated Piedmont College 6-3. Pfeiffer lost 5-4 to North Georgia on Saturday.
Cody Simpson came up big for Pfeiffer on Friday clinching the match for the Falcons at #5 singles. Pfeiffer went up 2-1 after doubles, winning at the #2 and #3 spots. Daniel Morehead and Guilherme Chiaramonti quickly won for Pfeiffer to give the Falcons a 4-1 lead but Piedmont pulled out two tough matches at #1 and #2 singles to get within 4-3.
Simpson split the first two sets and entered the third knowing he had to win(Frank Pouchet at #4 singles had lost his first set). Simpson turned up his concentration and footwork and defeated his opponent 6-3 to clinch the match for Pfeiffer. Pouchet came back and won in three to give the Falcons their 6-3 victory.
Pfeiffer lost a heartbreaker on Saturday 5-4. The Falcons trailed 1-2 after doubles and should have been up 3-0 after #2 and #3 doubles each lost after holding a late break. AJ Flores and Frank Pouchet played a great match at #1 doubles winning 9-8 and giving Pfeiffer a chance going into singles. North Gerogia won at #5 singles but Flores dominated his opponent at #2 singles winning 6-0,6-1 to bring Pfeiffer within 3-2. TJ Maurer lost a tight match at #1 singles but Guilherme Chiaramonti won in three at #3. North Georgia captured #4 singles to win the match. Cody Simpson won at #6 to give Pfeiffer its final point.
Pfeiffer has their first home match of the year Friday at Noon against D-I Samford.
