| Pfeiffer Gets Conference Win |

| Misenheimer, NC---Pfeiffer(3-4,1-1) picked up their first conference victory with an 82-74 win over visiting St. Andrews Presbyterian(0-3,0-2) in women's basketball action Thursday evening. After trailing at the half, the Falcons used a dominating second half perfomence to claim the win. Ten different Falcon players scored in the game. Pfeiffer hit three "3's" to claim an early 9-4 lead. St. Andrews fought back but a Shanee' Purnell corner jumper with 9:20 to go gave Pfeiffer a 13-12 advantage. Domonique China gave Pfeiffer the lead again at 26-25 after she stole a pass and took it in for a driving lay-up. A Purnell three-pointer gave the Falcons a 29-28 lead at the two minute mark. St. Andrews closed the half on a 9-5 run to take a 37-34 advantage at halftime. Both teams had 17 turnovers at halftime. Pfeiffer shot 25% from the floor in the half but held St. Andrews to 36% shooting. Pfeiffer used an early 7-0 run to grab a 41-40 lead. Another run but the Falcons up 50-43 at the 14 minute mark. Five straight points by Lauren Brittingham helped build the Falcon lead to 58-45. St. Andrews came back but another Purnell three-pointer put the Falcons up 63-57 with 7:52 to go. A Brittingham lay-up made it 73-61 Pfeifer with 3:30 left. The Falcons hit their free throws down the stretch and held on for a 82-74 victory. Lauren Brittingham led Pfeiffer with 27 points. Shanee' Purnell added 4 points and 9 rebounds. Danielle Norman led the Knights wih 21 points. Pfeiffer will return to action Saturday when they host Queens at 5:30 pm |
