|Falcons Fall to Bobcats|

|BANNER ELK, NC – The Lees-McRae College Bobcats defeated Conference Carolinas rival Pfeiffer University 14-7 Thursday afternoon in men’s lacrosse action. The Bobcats improve to 3-8 (1-4 Conference Carolinas) while the Falcons record now stands at 3-7 (1-3). |
After Chad Olsen gave the visitors an early 2-0 lead with a pair of unassisted goals at 9:09 and 5:49, the Bobcats responded with two of their own from sophomores Landon Young and Brandon Marks to knot the score at two to end the first quarter.
The Bobcats controlled the pace of play for most of the second quarter, shutting out the Falcons while burying two more goals to hold a 4-2 edge at halftime.
In the third, the Bobcats took control of the game outscoring the Falcons 4-1 to hold an 8-4 lead heading into the final frame.
The Bobcats again came out strong in the final quarter, scoring the first three goals to give the Bobcats an 11-4 cushion. Marks would add a man up goal with LeBlanc picking up his second assist of the game 34 seconds later to put the Bobcats up eight; however the Falcons would show they still had some fight left as Wesley McMahon and Adams scored back to back goals at 7:12 and 6:45 respectively. Markey and Ficken would get both of those back for the Bobcats at 5:19 and 3:44, both on extra man opportunities as the Bobcats finished 3-3 with the man advantage. Eddie Gourley would round out the scoring for the Falcons with a goal at 2:11 to make the final count 14-7 in favor of the Bobcats.
