Falcons Win 5th in a Row

Misenheimer, NC---The Pfeiffer men's basketball team rallied from 16 down at halftime to defeat Anderson 80-78 in Conference Carolinas action Thursday night. It was the fifth win in a row for the Falcons who improve to11-4 overall and 7-2 in the conference. Anderson falls to 6-10 oerall and 4-5 in the conference. Chris Woods had 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Falcons.

A 6-0 run by the Falcons broke a 6-6 tie and gave Pfeiffer an early lead.

Anderson took a 19-18 lead at the 10:30 mark.

Anderson stretched the lead to 30-20 before an Alvin Slaton jumper broke the Trojan run.

Pfeiffer trailed 44-28 at halftime.

An 11-0 Pfeiffer run cut the Anderson lead to 51-45 at the 16 minute mark. Anderson responded with a 5-0 run but the Falcons came back with an 8-0 run to trail by only three, 56-53 with 13:30 to go.

At the ten minute mark Anderson led 64-60.

Pfeiffer kept it close and at the 2:10 mark Logan Call hit a basket to cut the Falcon defecit to one at 73-72.

With 28 seconds left Thomas Carr hit a deep three-pointer to give Pfeiffer a 77-75 lead.

The Falcons held on to win 80-78.

Chris Woods led Pfeiffer with 16 poins and 8 rebounds. Thomas Carr added 15. Brandon Young had 31 points to lead Anderson.

Pfeiffer travels to St. Andrews Presbyterian on Saturday for a 4:00 pm game.
