| Men's Basketball Loses 101-89 |

| Misenheimer, NC---Falcon DeMario Grier exploded for 39 points but it wasn't enough as Pfeiffer(13-6,7-5) fell to visitng Queens(14-5,10-2), 101-89, in CVAC men's basketball action. Pfeiffer led by six at halftime but the Royals came back with a strong second half to win. Pfeiffer came out firing early in the first half and quickly took the lead. Queens fought back and the two teams battled throughout the first half and at the break the Falcons led 52-46. DeMario Grier had 27 points in the first half, going 6 for 8 from beyond the arc. Pfeiffer forced 14 turnovers and had only 4 themselves. Queens stayed in it by shooting 64% from the floor. Queens went on an 11-0 run early in the second half to take a one-point lead. Queens led most of the second half but a late Falcon run brought them within one with four minutes remaining. Queens closed the door on the comeback by hitting their free throws and won 101-89. Grier led Pfeiffer with 39 points. Robert McGriff added 14 points and Tavares Cooper chipped in with 10. Queens won the rebounding battle 49-30. Pfeiffer will return to action Thursday when they host Limestone at 7:30 pm. |
