| Pfeiffer Defeats Brevard 99-65 |

| Misenheimer, NC---Pfeiffer defeated Brevard 99-65 in the opening round of the Bobby Lutz Invitational Friday evening. The Falcons will now take on West Virginia State in the Championship ame Saturdy at 4:00 pm. Pfeiffer hit 17 three-pointers in the victory and all 12 Falcon players scored in the game. Brevard jumped out to a 9-0 lead after three minutes. A Thomas Carr three-pointer sparked a 18-0 Falcon run over the next three minutes. The Falcons used a three-point barrage to build a 37-22 lead at the eight minute mark. Pfeiffer led 48-31 at halftime. Pfeiffer had 9 3's at the break. They also held a 24-14 rebound advantage. Pfeiffer came out in the second half and continued their hot shooting. An Alvin Slaton three-pointer gave Pfeiffer a 72-43 advantage with 12 minutes to go. With 7 minutes left Craig Thomas drove the lane for a lay-up and a 85-49 Falcon lead. Pfeiffer won the game 99-65. Clyde Chapman led Pfeiffer with 18 points. Thomas Carr and Chris Woods each had 17. Woods led with 9 rebounds and Chapman added 8. All 12 Falcons played over ten minutes and each scored in the game. Pfeiffer ended with 17 three-pointers. The Falcons out-rebounded Brevard 44-25 for the game and forced 28 Tornado turnovers. Pfeiffer will play West Virginia State at 4:00 pm tomorrow in the Bobby Lutz Invitational Championship Game. |
