| WILMINGTON, N.C. - UNC Wilmington junior Lauren Isenhour defeated Pfeiffer’s Juliana Reyes, 6-1, 6-1, to give the Seahawks a 7-0 women’s tennis victory Tuesday at the UNCW Tennis Complex. UNCW improves to 8-3-1, while Pfeiffer falls 5-3. The Seahawks surrendered only six games during the match to the Falcons. The Seahawks opened the match by sweeping the doubles point. Isenhour and sophomore Kayla Schwenk defeated seniors Mia Bovrowski and Heather Smith, 8-0. Freshmen Lindsay Leblang and Chelsea Kahle gave the Seahawks the doubles point by defeating freshmen Maddy Billeter and Catie Thomas of Pfeiffer, 8-0. Junior Priscilla Roberts and sophomore Hartley Collins improved to 6-0 in doubles, beating Pfeiffer’s junior Juliana Reyes and sophomore Patty Dominquez, 8-1. Schwenk, Leblang and Kahle won in straight sets with 6-0, 6-0 victories at No. 2, 3 and 5 singles for the Seahawks. Isenhour improved to 8-0 in singles play. Roberts won, 6-0, 6-2, over Dominquez at No. 1 singles. Collins completed the sweep of the Falcons with her 6-0, 6-1 victory against Thomas at No.6 singles. |
