| Misenheimer, NC---Pfeiffer sophmore Will Davis hit two home runs as Pfeiffer (3-0) completed a weekend series sweep with a 6-4 win over Lenoir-Rhyne (0-3) Sundy afternoon in non-conference baseball action. After two come from behind wins Saturday the Falcons jumped to a 6-0 lead Sunday and held on for the victory. The Falcons opened the scoring in the second when Tyler Smith singled in Eric Shoemaker. Pfeiffer had bak to back home runs in the fourth to take their lead to 4-0. First Will Davis hit a two-run shot and then Eric Soemaker followed with a solo home run. Davis hit another two-run shot in the seventh as the Falcons went up 6-0. On the mound Pfeiffer starter Chris Miller had a strong outing giving up only 1 run in 7 and 2/3 innings to pick up the win. Andrew Oliver came on in the ninth with the score at 6-4 and one on and no outs. He quickly retired three straight Bears to earn the save and preserve the Falcon victory. Pfeiffer returns to action Tuesday when they host Catawba at 2:30 pm. |
