Wins CVAC Regular Season

Misenheimer, NC: The Limestone Lady Saints jumped out to a 7-3 halftime lead and held on to defeat Pfeiffer on Tuesday afternoon to win the regular season championship. The Lady Falcons took a 2-1 lead with 22:09 left in the first half but proceeded to give up 5 straight goals (2 from Marissa Pesce) to take a commanding 6-2 lead.

Brenna Clark (Sr. Wellington, FL) came out firing in the 2nd half with two goals to cut the lead to 7-5 with 24:08 remaining. Heidi Karaszkiewicz scored her second goal of the game to cut the Limestone lead 8-7. The Lady Saints responded scoring the next two to lead 10-7. Elie Fenton scored her second goal of the game to cut the lead to 10-9 with 9:48 remaining. Pfeiffer had several chances to tie but where rejected by goalie Erin Cavanaugh, who finished with 10 saves. Limestone’s Lauryn Wise finished the day scoring the final two goals, the last coming with :41 seconds.

Pfeiffer led in draw controls 12-10 but where outshot 26-18. and groundballs 18-12.

Elie Fenton (Sr. Odenton, MD), Karaszkiewicz (Fr. Glen Burnie, MD) and Clark finished with two goals, while keeper Kristin Kibler (Sr. Crownsville, MD) recorded 8 saves.

Pfeiffer will play Queens in the first round of the CVAC Tournament on Friday April 10th at 2:30pm.
