| Misenheimer, NC---The Pfeiffer softball team exploded at the plate for a doubleheader sweep over St. Augustine Saturday afternoon by the sores of 21-0 and 13-1.Pfeiffer improved to 13-13 on the season. GAME ONE Pfeiffer sent 17 batters to the plate in the first inning scoring 11 runs on 12 hits, a walk and an error. Every hitter scored at least once in the inning. Pfeiffer came back with seven runs in the second with 7 hits and a walk. The Falcons scored three in the third to take a 21-0 lead. Dacia Ijames pitched the first three innings giving up one hit and striking out six. Amanda Beck came in and pitched two hitless innings in relief.
GAME TWO Jaimee Cassidy and Christi Sink had RBI singles in the first to give Pfeiffer a 2-0 lead. Pfeiffer scored three in the second highlighted by a Chelsea Morton 2-RBI hit. St. Augustine scored an unearned run in the third on a hit and two Falocn errors. Ashley Morris and Amanda Beck had RBI hits in the third as the Falcons built an 8-1 lead. Pfeiffer got five more runs in the fourth to lead 13-1. Amanda Beck and Chelsea Morton combined on the four-hitter.
Pfeiffer will host CVAC rival Belmont-Abbey in a doubleheader on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 pm
