Currier on Singleton - “Montez is the fastest player with the basketball in his hands that I have coached. He is a weapon that fits perfectly into our pressure defense and up-tempo offense system. Montez is one of the best on-ball defenders not only on our team- but in our league as well, and we will count on him setting the tone with relentless ball pressure.”
Singleton will begin his sophomore year and first season as a member of the Pfeiffer men’s basketball program, spending the 2011-12 season as a redshirt. Prior to redshirting at Pfeiffer, Singleton played at Catawba Valley Community College, where he averaged 9.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game. Before his time at Catawba Valley, Montez played for Vance High School, where he was named to the Mecklenberg Conference 2nd Team during his senior season.
He is the son of Stephanie Singleton and Vincent Cuthbertson.
