Jeremy Zalacca joined the Pfeiffer University Athletic Department in the role of Sports Information Director in July 2013. He was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications in Feb 2015.
Prior to his arrival in Misenheimer, Zalacca served as the Assistant Sports Information Director at Rochester Institute of Technology during the 2012-13 season. While at RIT, Zalacca helped manage the universities 22 athletic teams. He worked most closely with the Division I Men’s and Women’s hockey teams as well as the Men’s Lacrosse team which reached the Division III National Championship game played at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles. The Rochester, N.Y. native also prepared game notes for every women’s hockey contest during the season, helped maintain the athletic website, wrote feature stories, and served as a statistician.
Zalacca spent the 2011-12 academic year as an Assistant Sports Information Director at SUNY Potsdam and has held positions as a Stats Reporter for Stats LLC, and worked in the Statistics and Analysis Department at ESPN. In Bristol CT, he did live stats for Division I college football games which were broadcast on ESPN.com and featured on the ESPN Ticker.
In 2009-10, Zalacca was an Assistant Basketball Coach at Hilbert College where he served as the top assistant in charge of recruiting and scouting. He also produced the team’s media guide.
A 2007 graduate of St. John Fisher College, Zalacca holds a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. As a member of the St. John Fisher basketball team, he helped the squad to three consecutive NCAA appearances and was a key member of the 2004-05 team that went undefeated in the regular season and advanced to the Sweet 16. He was also the team’s SAAC representative.
Zalacca currently resides with his wife, Emily, in Concord, NC.
