Robyn Jones enters her second year at Pfeiffer as the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach following a successful second season as the Charlotte Lady Eagles starting Goalkeeper.
Robyn began her soccer coaching career in 2007 as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for Franklin & Marshall University in Lancaster, PA. Upon her graduation from Franklin & Marshall University in 2008, she served for two years as the Head Goalkeeper Trainer for the Next Level Soccer Academy in Pennington, NJ.
In August of 2009 Robyn took her soccer expertise to the collegiate stage, serving as an Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach/Goalkeeper Coach for The College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ. During Robyn’s three seasons as Assistant Coach at TCNJ the team made three straight Division III NCAA Tournament appearances, once to the Sweet 16 and once to the Final Four. During those same three seasons, TCNJ won the New Jersey Athletic Conference each year and had three separate goalkeepers each boast a GAA of less than .50 and at least 10 shutouts.
In addition to her collegiate coaching, Robyn also worked as a Performance Coach at the Source Institute for Human Performance from 2010 to 2011 and was the Assistant Coach for the Women’s Varsity Soccer Team at Southlake Christian Academy in 2013. Robyn has also served as a Goalkeeper Trainer for North Carolina ODP since 2011.
Along with her coaching career Robyn has enjoyed extensive collegiate, semi-pro, and professional playing careers. Robyn played her first two collegiate years of women’s soccer for Rutgers University where she started nearly every game and holds five current goalkeeping records. As a freshman at Rutgers in 2003, Robyn was named Rutgers Rookie of the Year, Soccerbuzz All-Region Co-Freshmen Goalkeeper of the Year, Soccerbuzz Mid-Atlantic All-Region Freshmen 1st Team, and MVP of the Notre Dame Classic.
Robyn completed her collegiate playing career at Franklin & Marshall University where she was named a team captain in 2006. While at Franklin & Marshall Robyn was also awarded the Franklin and Marshall College Women’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award in 2008. Following college Robyn went on to play semi-pro soccer in the W-League for the New Jersey Wildcats. Robyn played with the Wildcats from 2007 to 2009, served as a team captain during her tenure, and was named Eastern Conference Goalkeeper of the Year for the 2007 season.
Robyn moved from New Jersey to Charlotte, NC in the fall of 2011 and in the spring of 2012 she travelled to Japan with the Sky Blue FC (formerly of the WPS and now a member of the NWSL) as a goalkeeper and saw minutes in her first-ever international contest. Following her return to the states, Robyn found a home as the starting goalkeeper with the Charlotte Lady Eagles of the W-League.
Robyn was born in Roseburg, Oregon and is a native of Titusville, New Jersey where she attended The Pennington School.
