Robyn Horner took over as Women's Soccer Head Coach in January 2015. Horner has spent the previous two seasons as Pfeiffer’s assistant coach and brings a tremendous background to the program.

As a professional, Horner née Jones played in the WPS, the highest level of women’s professional soccer. She spent two years playing for the Philadelphia Independence and traveled to play in Japan as a member of the New Jersey Sky Blue organization. Horner has also played semi-professionally for the past three seasons with the Charlotte Lady Eagles, including the past two as the team’s captain. This past season, Horner was the finalist for the W-League Goalkeeper of the Year and her team won the Southeastern Conference Championship and advanced to the W-League Final Four.

Horner brings seven years of coaching experience to the Falcons and had a distinguished collegiate career as a goalkeeper for Rutgers. As a freshman for the Scarlet Knights, Horner was named Rutgers Rookie of the Year, Soccerbuzz All-Region Co-Freshmen Goalkeeper of the Year and won the MVP of the Notre Dame Classic.

Horner began her coaching career at Franklin & Marshall University and went on to serve as the Head Goalkeeper Trainer for the Next Level Soccer Academy in Pennington, NJ. Following that stint, Horner accepted the Assistant Coach/Goalkeeper Coach at The College of New Jersey. During Robyn’s three seasons, the Lions made three straight Division III NCAA Tournament appearances, including a spot in the Final Four.

In addition to collegiate coaching, Robyn coached youth soccer CSA-North Club in Charlotte and was the Assistant Coach for the Women’s Varsity Soccer Team at Southlake Christian Academy in 2013.  Robyn has also served as a Goalkeeper Trainer for North Carolina ODP since 2011.

“I feel very blessed and excited to start this new chapter in my life,” said Horner.  “I am so thankful to Bob Reasso and Pfeiffer University, not only for putting their faith in me and helping me chase my dream of becoming a Head Coach, but also to lead these young women.  It is my sincere hope that I can continue to honor and promote the legacy of success and tenacity that has become the foundation of Pfeiffer Women's Soccer, not just on the field, but in the classroom as well."
