DANBURY, CONN. -- Pfeiffer centerfielder Xavier Rodriguez has been named the ECAC South Player of the Week the league announced this afternoon. Rodriguez becomes the first Pfeiffer baseball player to earn the award.
Rodriguez led Pfeiffer University to a 4-0 week as the senior centerfielder went 10-for-16 at the plate and scored 10 runs in the four games. Rodriguez drew two walks and was hit by a pair of pitches to give him a .667 on-base percentage to go with a .688 slugging percentage and .625 batting average. Rodriguez also added three stolen bases on the week which was highlighted by a 3-for-3 performance against William Peace on Friday where he scored three times and drove in a pair of runs.
Rodriguez and the Falcons return to action this weekend when they travel to Brevard or a 3-game series.
