    LAURINBURG, N.C. -- The Pfeiffer baseball team (1-3) split a doubleheader on Friday, dropping a 16-12 game to Cumberlands and earning their first win of the season in a 12-8 contest against St. Andrews. The Falcons pounded out five home runs in the two games.

    Upcoming rain in the forecast has forced the Pfeiffer baseball team to cancel their four-game weekend series that was scheduled to take place at Joe Ferebee Field against Indiana-South Bend. The Falcons were scheduled for four games against IUSB but the weather forced a change in plans.

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Vice President for Athletics Bob Reasso announced this afternoon that Jordan Stampler has been named the Pfeiffer Baseball Head Coach. Stampler becomes the seventh head coach in program history and has served as the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator with the Falcons for the past two-and-a-half years.
  • Blake Resigns to Become Pitching Coach at Duke

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. – After five successful seasons as the head coach of the Pfeiffer baseball team, Dusty Blake has announced his resignation to become the pitching coach at Duke University. Blake joins the staff of Chris Pollard who was the head coach at Pfeiffer from 2000-04.

    ELON, N.C. – The No. 6 seeded Pfeiffer Falcons (23-23) used an eight run sixth inning to knock off the No. 1 seeded and the nations top ranked team, Mount Olive (42-8) on Thursday night in Conference Carolinas Tournament play. Pfeiffer improved to 3-0 in the first round of Conference Tournament action in the past three season with a 9-2 upset victory. It was also the second straight year Pfeiffer entered as the No. 6 seed and knocked off the league’s top seed in game one.

The Falcons needed to take two of three this weekend from the Tornado (19-26, 9-17) and have Mount Olive beat Limestone twice. Both came through successfully as Pfeiffer looks to advance to their third straight Conference Tournament Championship game.

    On Saturday afternoon, the Pfeiffer Falcons (19-22, 9-15 CC) dropped both games of a crucial doubleheader at the North Greenville Crusaders (34-12, 17-7 CC). In game two, Pfeiffer fought back from seven runs down in the top of the seventh to take a short lived 11-9 lead but North Greenville were eventually victorious, 12-11.

Left-hander Drew Wilson earned his third win of the season, tossing six innings and scattering five hits and one run while striking out seven batters. Xavier Rodriguez claimed his fourth save of the year.
