FLETCHER, N.C. – The Pfeiffer men's golf team wrapped up the Mars Hill Spring Invitational with a second place overall finish. The Falcons were led by third-place finishes by Hunter Dillard and Cory Selander. The tournament took place at Broadmoor Golf Links and was a par 72, 6903-yard course.
Dillard shot a 150 over the two-day tournament, which tied him for third with three other golfers, including teammate Selander. Dillard shot a 76 on day one and shaved two strokes off on day two and Selander shot a 78 on day one and a 72 on the final day.
Trailing those two was Genis Albert and Cameron Hall who finished one shot behind. The duo each shot a 151 on the tournament, good for a +7.
Tim Hoffman rounded out the top five, shooting a 153 +9 on the tournament.
As a team, the Falcons shot a 602 and finished just three shots behind tournament host Mars Hill for first place. As a squad, the Falcons were 16 shots better on day two, posting a total of 293 as compared to the opening round 309 they shot.
Pfeiffer returns to action on Monday, March 5 when they compete in the Catawba Invitational.
