Pfeiffer's Winning Streak Ends at Hands of No. 1 Limestone

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Pfeiffer men's lacrosse team (5-6, 2-2 CC) saw its four game winning streak come to an end with a 24-8 loss to No. 1 Limestone (10-0, 3-0) on Saturday afternoon. Kyle Barna scored four of Pfeiffer's eight goals on the day but Limestone came away with their 12th straight victory over the Falcons.

Limestone jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead just 2:05 into the game and never looked back. Charlie Sheehan scored five times and added an assist, while 15 different Saints recorded at least one goal on the day.

In addition to Barna's four goals, Blade Garlow, Myles Dalton-Steinhart Jared Nelson and Ryan Cummings each tallied one goal. Mike Moorehead made 11 saves in net but fell to 5-6 on the season.

The Saints won 28 of the 36 face offs in the contest and held a 51-24 advantage in ground balls. Limestone outshot Pfeiffer 53-20.

The Falcons currently sit in fifth place in the conference with three league games left to play.

Pfeiffer will return to action on Wednesday as they host Methodist in non-conference action. Face off is slated for 7 p.m.
