Christopher Newport Downs Pfeiffer Men's Soccer, 6-0

Newport News, Va. (Sept. 2, 2018) – The Pfeiffer University men's soccer team allowed three goals within the first 15 minutes of play and could not recover, dropping a 6-0 decision at Christopher Newport University on Sunday afternoon.

CNU (2-0) wasted no time, scoring in the second minute when Stephen Durbin took a pass that beat the Falcon defense and added a touch over Falcon goalkeeper
Jacob Hill (Holly Springs, N.C.).  Another goal was added in the 13th minute to make it 2-0, this time, Zachary Ballard took a through-ball and beat Hill to the left side.  Less than a minute later, CNU went up 3-0 when Durbin netted his second goal of the half.

CNU added three more in the second half, with goals in the 51st minute, 85th minute and 87th minute.

Pfeiffer managed eight shots on the afternoon, with Haile Eve (Sandy's Bermuda) contributing four with one shot on goal.

The loss drops the Falcons to 1-1 on the season while CNU improved to 2-0.

Pfeiffer will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 8, taking on Frostburg State at 5:00 p.m. in Fayetteville, N.C. on the campus of Methodist University.
