Track and Field Concludes Indoor Season; Turns Attention to ECAC Championships

Winston-Salem, NC – The Pfeiffer men's and women's track and field team competed in its final regular season indoor meet of the year at the UCS Invitational hosted by JDL Fasttrack.

On the men's side, three school records fell, and four athletes saw performances good enough to qualify them for the ECAC Indoor Championships.

Sophomore Xavier Huntley started the record-breaking off in the 400m dash running a time of 51.94 (15th place). Huntley's time is good enough to qualify him individually for the ECAC Indoor Championships.

Freshman Devon Williams continued the record-breaking day, running a 1:59.37 (19th place) in the 800-meter race. That time qualified Williams for ECACs. Williams had previously qualified in the 1000m run as well.

The men's 200m dash saw two Falcons run under the previous school record and both qualify for ECACs in that event. Sophomore Keshon Roman ran 22.91 (11th place) setting a new school record, and Junior Sean Bryant ran 23.29 (16th place). Both had previously qualified in the 60m dash.

On the women's side, Junior Cassidy Hooper nearly equaled her 3000m school record running a time of 11:18.20 (17th place).

Senior Jayde Kemp ran a personal record (PR) 2:29.87 in the 800m which was good for 18th place.

The UCS Invitational concludes the regular season portion of the Falcon's indoor schedule. The next meet will be the ECAC Indoor Championships on March 2nd and 3rd, held at the historic Armory Track and Field in New York City.
