Pfeiffer Track and Field Opens Season at Wake Forest Invitational
Winston-Salem, N.C. (Jan. 22, 2019) – The Pfeiffer University men's and women's track and field teams traveled to the JDL Fast Track for the Wake Forest Invitational this past Saturday.
On the men's side, senior Sean Bryant continued his hot streak of solid races finishing in the top ten in the men's 200-meter race with a time of 23.25. The effort was good enough for 9th place and also qualified him for the ECAC Indoor Championships in that event. Bryant had previously qualified in the 60-meter dash earlier in the season. Bryant also finished 12th in the 60-meter preliminaries running a time of 7.10 just narrowly missing qualifying for the finals that afternoon.
Other notable performances on the men's side included freshman Nevin Foster who finished 14th in the 400-meter dash in a time of 53.02. Sophomore Keyshawn Campbell added another top-ten finish to his season placing 8th in the long jump with a distance of 6.15 meters (20-2.5). Senior Klay Gill, finished 13th in the men's weight throw, throwing a personal record of 10.85 meters (35-7.25).
On the women's side, senior Kylie Spencer placed 13th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:30.28. Sophomore Tonishea Ford threw a personal record throw of 10.26m (33-08) in the weight throw, which was good for 25th place.
The Falcons will travel to Salem, Virginia this Saturday, January 26th for the Finn Pincus Invitational held at the Cregger Center on the campus of Roanoke College.
