    MISENHEIMER, NC -The Pfeiffer Falcons softball team and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association have recognized nine players from the 2016-17 academic school year as they excelled in the classroom with a grade point average of 3.5 or better.

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Thanks to a record-breaking season, the Pfeiffer softball team ended the 2017 campaign ranked No. 18 in the nation in the final National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) poll. The Falcons broke program records for most wins in a season (46) and highest winning percentage (.852) under second year head coach Monte Sherrill.

    MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - A pair of Pfeiffer Falcons were named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Softball All-Southeast Region team on Monday afternoon. Freshman third basemen Makenzie Pennell and senior pitcher Sydney Poole earned Second Team All-Region honors.

    SAVANNAH, GA - For the second straight season, the Pfeiffer softball team (46-8) saw its season come to an end at the hands of Armstrong St. in the Southeast Regional final. The Pirates (34-12) hit seven home runs in their doubleheader sweep to advance to next week’s Super Regional against North Georgia.

    SAVANNAH, G.A. – Caitlin Christian was dominant in a complete game performance and left fielder Stephanie Fortner came up with the clutch go-ahead RBI single in the fifth inning as the No. 7-seeded Pfeiffer softball team (46-6) beat No. 6 seed Young Harris, 2-1, in the NCAA Tournament Regional Semifinals for its second upset win in as many days.
  • Millsaps' Hot Bat Leads Falcons to Win in NCAA Tournament Opener

    SAVANNAH, GA - For the second straight season, the Pfeiffer softball team (45-6) defeated a higher-seeded opponent in its NCAA Tournament opener as the Falcons outlasted No. 2 seed Carson-Newman (43-12) by a score of 7-4 in nine innings on Thursday afternoon. Kiana Millsaps had four runs batted in, including the game-winning hit in the ninth inning as Pfeiffer ended a 21-game head-to-head losing streak against the Eagles.

    BURLINGTON, N.C. - The Pfeiffer softball team’s quest for a second straight Conference Carolinas Tournament championship fell short as the Falcons (44-6) fell to North Greenville (35-17) in the tournament final. Amanda Coffrin pitched NGU to their first ever Conference Tournament Title with a complete game shutout in the Crusaders 4-0 victory.
  • Pair of Walk Off Wins in Extra Innings Send Falcons on to Championship Game

    BURLINGTON, N.C. - A pair of extra inning walk offs kept the Pfeiffer softball teams’ hopes alive for a second straight Conference Carolinas Tournament title on a hot Saturday afternoon. The Falcons outlasted Lees-McRae 2-1 in 10 innings to start the day and then topped Limestone 5-4 in nine innings. Needing a third straight win on a 90 degree day, Pfeiffer beat Erskine 7-2 in the night cap and move on to tomorrow’s championship round to play North Greenville.

    BURLINGTON, N.C. – The No. 1-seeded Pfeiffer University softball team (41-5) split the opening day of the Conference Carolinas tournament on Friday, beating No. 8 seed Lees-McRae, 8-3 in game one but then falling to No. 5 seed Erskine in a 3-0 upset in game two.

Makenzie Pennell was named the league’s freshman of the year and Monte Sherrill earned coach of the year honors. Additionally, Pfeiffer placed six players on the all-conference team.

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Thanks to a rainout of Pfeiffer's doubleheader against King, the Falcons secured their first Conference Carolinas regular season championship since the 2000 season and their third since 1990. The Falcons hold a one game lead over Limestone and will claim the top seed in next week's conference tournament.

Harding and Humboldt State jumped past the Falcons who sit 38-4 on the year with four games left to play in the regular season.

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. - With a sweep of Belmont Abbey on Wednesday night, the No. 4 Pfeiffer softball team (40-4, 18-2) broke the record for most wins in a season which was set a year ago. The Falcons 39 wins in 2016 were topped thanks to a 6-2 victory in game two as Pfeiffer wrapped up the home portion of their 2017 regular season.

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The No. 2 Pfeiffer softball team (36-4, 14-2 CC) earned a split with North Greenville (27-17, 13-5 CC) on Thursday afternoon. The Falcons saw their eight game winning streak come to a close in game, dropping a 7-0 decision before rallying for a 6-3 win in game two.

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Stephanie Fortner’s first career home run came at the perfect time as the No. 3 Pfeiffer softball team (35-3, 13-1 CC) survived an upset bid from Southern Wesleyan (7-29, 3-13) on Friday afternoon. With her team trailing 4-2 with two runners on and two out in the bottom of the sixth, Fortner’s line drive cleared the left field fence and gave the Falcons a 5-4 win in game one.
