Pfeiffer Softball Wins Two Over Randolph
Misenheimer, N.C. (March 31, 2019) – The Pfeiffer University softball team extended their winning streak to nine, the longest of the season, with a nonconference doubleheader sweep of visiting Randolph College by scores of 10-2 and 5-0.
Pfeiffer – 27-3
Randolph – 12-15-1
In game one, Pfeiffer had five hits for extra bases, including a pair of home runs from Kiana Millsaps. Vada Blue Sherrill and Makenzie Pennell each doubled while Alexis Walter and Kayla Miller each hit their first career triple in the win.
Millsaps finished with four RBI while Sherrill had three in the win.
Reece Davis got the pitching win for the Falcons, improving to 4-0 on the season. Davis pitched 3.0 innings, giving up five hits and just one run in the outing.
Caiti Mickles, Millsaps, and Kyndle Wallace each pitched an inning of relief in helping the Falcons to the 10-2, 6-inning win.
In game two, Makenzie Pennell rapped two doubles and finished 3-of-3 on the game. Sherrill was 2-of-3 with a home run while Reece Davis also hit solo home run in the 5-0 win.
Millsaps earned the complete-game win for the Falcons, scattering five hits while striking out four WildCat batters.
The Falcons will play their next two games on the road, travelling to Meredith College on Wednesday, April 3 for a 2:00 p.m. doubleheader with the Angels.
