The Pfeiffer women's basketball team (11-1) continued their winning ways on Saturday as they defeated Methodist (2-14) 74-53. The win extends the Falcons' win streak to 8 games. Freshman A'Mya McClain and junior Sydni Bickford led the way for Pfeiffer on the afternoon. McClain topped the Falcons in scoring, putting up 15 points while shooting 60 percent from the floor. Bickford came through with 14 points while also collecting four steals on the defensive end.
Pfeiffer's defense once again stifled the Monarchs offense, forcing 37 turnovers on the afternoon. The Falcons turned those turnovers in to 34 points, which made the biggest difference in the contest. The game remained close through the third quarter, but a big fourth quarter propelled Pfeiffer to a 21 point victory. The Falcons outscored Methodist 21-11 in the fourth, including forcing 6 turnovers in the period.
Senior Kayla Whitworth led the Pfeiffer bench with 8 points while going 4-7 from the floor. She also collected five rebounds. Freshman Brina Bentley contributed to the win as well, scoring 8 points and pulling down 7 boards, 6 of those on the offensive glass.
Freshman Kayla Goldsmith led the Monarchs as she scored 13 points while grabbing 12 rebounds. Another freshman, Kadie Snipes, chipped in with 12 points while going 4-9 from long range.
