Women's Basketball Sees Eight-Game Winning Streak Come to an End

FERRUM, VA – The Pfeiffer women's basketball team (11-2) saw its eight-game winning streak come to an end with a 67-53 loss at Ferrum (9-8) on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons were held to a season-low 53 points and 29.3 percent shooting from the floor.

The game was delayed at the start due to a technical issue and the game was played without a scoreboard or shot clock. However, the Falcons were unable to get untracked, going just 2-for-13 from long range and committing 23 turnovers.

Shalonda Wilkins came off the bench to score a team-high 17 points and connected on both of Pfeiffer's 3-pointers. Wilkins went 5-of-9 from the floor and knocked down 5-of-6 from the free throw line.

Dajea Scott had 11 points, nine rebounds and five assists on the afternoon, while center Grayson Harris contributed 10 rebounds.

The Falcons had a 40-36 advantage on the glass but were outscored 38-18 in points in the paint.

Earlier in the season, Pfeiffer defeated the Panthers 59-50 as each team defended its home court in the season series.

The Falcons hadn't lost since a 65-61 defeat on Dec. 14.

The Falcons remain unbeaten (7-0) at home and look to stay that way when they host N.C. Wesleyan on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
