BREVARD, N.C. -- The Pfeiffer women's basketball team (20-3) earned win number thanks to a 27-point outburst from Sydni Bickford and another double-double from Grayson Harris. Bickford went 8-for-11 from long range and added three steals and two assists.
In the second meeting between the two teams in a week, the Falcons earned their second straight win over the Tornados (11-13). Harris tallied 11 points and 10 rebounds for Pfeiffer and Dajea Scott added nine points and six assists. With her six dimes, Scott moves into sole possession of third place in program history with 375 career assists. Scott passes Kathleen Murphy for third place, Murphy had been in third since 1994.
Each team shot 40 percent from the field but the Falcons were a scorching 11-for-19 from long range. Pfeiffer went to the line 32 times on the night, 10 more times than Brevard.
The game was tied three times and featured six lead changes. However, the Falcons took control with a big third quarter and extended the lead to as many as 16 points.
The two teams will meet again tomorrow in the finale of their three-game series. It will be the regular season finale for both squads.
