Pfeiffer Women Drops 47-41 Game at Meredith

– The Pfeiffer University women's basketball team shot just 31.7% from the field in a 47-41 road loss at Meredith on Sunday afternoon.

The Falcons jumped out to an 18-6 lead after the first quarter, but struggled in the second quarter, scoring just five points, but took the 23-20 lead into the half.

The Falcons lead 36-33 after the third, but poor shooting in the fourth quarter doomed the Falcons, as they only managed a 1-for-9 (11.1%) outing from the floor.

Senior Sydni Bickford (Concord, N.C.) was the only Pfeiffer player in double figures, as she finished with a team-high 11 points.  Junior Kortni Pinion (Stanfield, N.C.) had eight points and a team-leading six rebounds in the loss.

The loss drops the Falcons to 9-10 overall and 6-9 in USA South play while Meredith ups their record to 7-16 and 7-7 in league play.
