Misenheimer, NC - The Pfeiffer women's lacrosse team (8-1) put on a dominating display against Ferrum College (3-6) on Saturday afternoon as they defeated the Panthers 18-4. The Falcons were led by Molly O'Friel and Meagan Bourque. O'Friel had six goals on the afternoon and Bourque tallied four goals. The win pushes Pfeiffer's winning streak to seven in a row.
The Falcons took a 10-2 lead into halftime and continued to apply the offensive pressure in the second half. At one point Pfeiffer obtained a 15-goal advantage when they went up 17-2. The defensive pressure from the team limited Ferrum to only six shots on goal and produced 29 turnovers.
Pfeiffer also received strong contributions from Kylie Lodie with three goals and Josie Lent with a pair of scores.
In addition to her six goals, O'Friel added seven ground balls, 10 draw controls and five caused turnovers. Lent also caused five turnovers for the Falcons and added four ground balls to her ledger.
The Falcons grabbed 17 of the 23 draw controls on the day and held a 34-8 advantage in shots. Emily James made two saves to improve to 4-0 in goal for Pfeiffer.
The team returns to action next Saturday at North Carolina Wesleyan.
