Falcons Swim to Draw at Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- In a rare occurrence, the Pfeiffer swim team swam to a tie at Columbia with each team accumulating 119 points on the day. The Falcons went 3-0 last night with wins against Greensboro, Sweet Briar and Guilford before today's draw. 

The Falcons Allison Lindsey took home a first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in a time of 5:39.52. Later in the day, Lindsey would take the top spot in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.15 and the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:19.02 giving her three victories on the afternoon. 

Mireia van Riet would earn back-to-back victories in the 200-yard IM and the 200-yard backstroke. Van Riet would match Lindsey's three wins with a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke. 

Tiffany Bartholomew also had a strong meet, winning two events. The sophomore finished first in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Lindsey, van Riet, Bartholomew and Alevtyna Kalashnik garnered a first-place finish with a time of 1.46:43. 

The Pfeiffer swim team returns to action next Saturday when they travel to Hampden-Sydney.
