Pfeiffer Volleyball Drops Two at Home Tri-Match

Misenheimer, N.C. (Oct. 20, 2018) – The Pfeiffer University volleyball team dropped two matches as part of a USA South Tri-Match at Merner Gym on Saturday afternoon.

In match one, the Falcons dropped a 3-0 (16-25, 19-25, 11-25) decision to William Peace.

Against the Pacers, the Falcons got a match-high seven kills from freshman Alonna Clouse (Harrisburg, N.C.) while teammate Lea Hilton (Kannapolis, N.C.) had five kills.  Defensively, Emma Gray Beacham (Laurinburg, N.C.) had seven digs while freshman setter Angelina Fardella (Harrisburg, N.C.) supplied 18 assists.

In match two, Pfeiffer fell to Averett by a 3-1 (19-25, 14-25, 25-23, 14-25) score.

Clouse again led the Falcons with 12 kills and 15 digs to record the double-double while Bri Weber (Jesup, Iowa) had nine kills.  Fardella again led Pfeiffer in assists, dishing 26 in the loss.

Pfeiffer did well at the net, combined for 18 block assists, with Myasia Jones (Hurlock, Md.) leading the way with four block assists and one solo block.

The Falcons now stand at 8-16 overall and 4-9 in USA South play while Averett improved to 13-11 and 9-5 in conference play.
