Men's and Women's Teams Finish 3rd Overall at Maryville Invitational

MARYVILLE, TN - The Pfeiffer Cross Country teams competed at the Maryville College Invitational hosted by Maryville College on Friday Saturday. The women placed three runners in the top 11 en route to a third-place team finish, while the men also placed third on the day.

Kylie Spencer paced the women and finished in third place overall as the senior ran the course in a time of 24:28.40 and just right behind her was junior Cassidy Hooper. Hooper was fifth overall, finishing with a time of 24:47.10. The other Falcon who finished in the top 11 was Megan Miller who finished 11th with a time of 26:06.20.

On the men's side, two Falcons paced the team as freshman Sully Hudson and senior Brandon Boyd finished inside the top 16. Hudson and Boyd were neck and neck but Hudson finished a hair before his teammate with a time of 29:58.40 for 15th. Boyd finished 16th with a time of 29:59.30. Notably, Glodi Elofa helped the Falcons add a third person in the top 25 of 76 runners as he finished in 22nd place with a time of 31:35.80.

Pfeiffer returns to course on Friday, October, 13th as they travel to Kernersville, NC for the High Point VertCross Invitational with a 4:30 p.m. start time.
