HICKORY, N.C. - The Pfeiffer (14-17) bats put up nine runs on Lenoir-Rhyne Bears' (18-13) starter Austin Hancock as the Falcons went on to win 14-4 on Tuesday night in non-conference action. Xavier Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two walks.

Pfeiffer struck early as Jordan Eckard homered for his only hit of the game as it brought in lead-off hitter John Elwood. The next batter, Zach Scudder, kept the rally alive with a one-bagger to left and then three batters later, Rodriguez singled up the middle, to bring in Scudder in from second base.

In the top of the second inning and his second at-bat of the game, Elwood hit his second homer of the season.

The Falcons added five runs in the top of the fourth as Scudder added his second hit of the game with another single to left as Elwood was able to score his third run of the night. The next two batters Tanner Mathis and Lambert kept the Pfeiffer rally going with singles. Gauge Gantt chased the starter Hancock from the game with a single to plate Scudder and Mathis. Rodriguez added an RBI on a bases-loaded walk and then Cody McKenzie brought in Gant on a fielder's choice.

Rodriguez added two more RBI in the top of the fifth with a single to center.

In the top of the seventh Kirby Lambert was able to connect on his fourth homer of the season as the Falcons went on to seal the victory.
